The kids are back in school now for the year (yeehaw!). They have changed to Stockdale and seem to have settled in to their new environment nicely. They all made some nice friends and 3 of them have joined the soccer team.
Ed is gearing up for hunting season. He has found some new land close to home that anyone can hunt on. He is building his tree stand ( I like to call it a tree fort!) in the garage and should be moving it in this weekend. Then the baiting begins and hunting in the morning and dusk.
I am still working away at my school work with Gratn MacEwan college and have completed 5 classes already. This gives me 15 credits towards 60. I am currently working on 5 more credits as we speak.
We love the new house and the surroundings. We have met our nice neighbours and the kids have some friends down the road. Its turing out to be a blessing for us and it is finally our place to call home.
Well off I go...There is so much to do...birthdays to plan, christmas to think about...it never ends.

WE"VE MOVED!
Well we finally got into our new home and absolutley love it. Being just outside of the city allows the kids to roam and spread out. Helps that everyone has their own bedroom and there is even a barn instead of the dog house for Ed! HAHAHA.
I will post some new pictures of the improvements we've done to make it ours.

So what have we been up to?
Its been a busy time for us lately. Our house is a firm deal and we will be moving by July 31st. There are some technicalities but the house in the pictures is ours.
On May 5th, we welcomed Abigail to the family. Mike and Lisa had the only girl on our side of the family. She is a beauty and I will be flying out June 12th to visit them.
On May 7th, a few ladies went to TO to see the on stage production of Dirty Dancing. It was fabulous.
On May 9th and 10th, I ventured on a girls 4 wheeling excursion from Frankford to Northbrook and back. The entire trip was about 230Km and we all had a blast.
On May 17th we had a BBQ celebrating mom and dads 40th wedding anniversary. Their anniversary is on the 18th, however, mom and I headed to TO to visit Christine for her baby shower.
I ended up coming down with the flu (second of the year) last weekend for about 3 days. I sprung back rather quickly though.
Ed and I spent some time today on the 4 wheelers and fishing. It was a nice day for us since they are few and far between.
Soccer is in full swing now. We have a tournament to attend in Whitby next weekend which I will be heading to with Sean. This is the first of 4 for the season. Kurtis and Sean also started their house league season this past week. Kurtis won his first game, Sean lost. A switch from last year it looks like.
Otherwise, we are all well.

The New house
We are currently in a holding pattern waiting for something to happen so we can move! This house that we have our offer in has 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, one acre and a pool. Lots of room for the kids to roam. It is right across from a berry farm, and on a dead end street. No traffic! We have an unconfirmed closing date of May 3o0th but could be as late as June 30th. I would prefer the later, but the offer on our house is set to close the 30th of May, but their time is going to expire shortly. Keep your fingers crossed!

The adventures continue
My blog started by the name of New Adventures. I have sinced changed it, however the adventures never stop. We recently purchased a new 4 Wheeler. Today, we had to take it back to the shop for service so Ed loaded them up and I met him in Belleville before heading on to Napanee. Shortly out of Belleville the tire fell off of the trailer. OOPS! What to do. We pulled off to the side of the road with Transports whipping by throwing up water (it was raining you know). So Ed got out the jack, I went to the woods to retrieve the tire and we assessed the damage. Lost all lug nuts and a bolt. Placed a call into Mom and Dad. Dad went to Canadian Tire and purchased some parts and drove out to meet us. Luckily the lug nuts fit and we were able to carry on down the road to the next exit. We assessed the situation once off the highway and carried on to Napanee (via side roads). The trailer was left at the Honda dealership as well for repair. We all made it home safe and sound.

Mary Jean Elizabeth Varty

The loss of a parent is never an easy venture. It has been a difficult road for Ed and myself this past week as we mourn Marys loss and deal with the issues that accompany it. We have had many sleepless nights but somehow have managed to find the strength to carry on through the days. I lay awake at night worrying about Ed and making sure he is getting the rest he needs as the final resting days approach. I haven't quite figured out who this is harder on, however, he will not see my weak side in the wee hours of the morning. It is his comforte that is the most important thing to me right now.
We thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers in this difficult time

So what does February bring?
Well I can honestly say life is busy in this neck of the woods. I have once again put my house up for sale. We have quickly outgrown it even after making renovations and improvements. We have located a house not too far out of Trenton, with room to grow and room to roam. Keep your fingers crossed.
February is always a month of birthdays. Ed and dad celebrated yesterday, while Lisa celebrates today.
Hockey season is still in motion. The Atom Hawks are in the toilet bowl round, winning, losing and tieing. I'm not sure where they stand in the series.
Soccer season is rounding the corner. Registration is this weekend, and like always, I do lend a hand to the soccer club on those busy days.
All the boys are doing well. Jacob and Jonah are playing indoor soccer at the moment. Questions about spring and summer sports still remain unanswered.
Mom and dad are becoming snow birds this year and leaving for Florida shortly. I hope the enjoy the trip. I'm a bit jealous since we've been hit by a lot of snow this year. Oh well...some other time

Job shuffles
Along with Ed losing his job and then finding another, my job decided to do a big shake up. A few of us have been moved around to different shifts and/or locations with altered responsibilities throughout the day. I will be leaving a shift that I have worked with since 1998 and moving to the other side. I wonder if its greener over there?
Semester two
As I posted previously, I enrolled at Grant MacEwan College distance Education program. I completed semester one with two courses. After the struggles and issues, I managed to pass both of them. With that experience out of the way, I have enrolled in two more classes. They start January 7th.
First Post in 2008
I hope the new year finds everyone good and well. So here are the latest updates of our lives.
December, Ed began a new adventure of his own in a new job. He is employed with Grief Brothers packaging in Belleville. They make plastic thingys. You'll have to ask him about it since I'm not quite sure.
Eds mom ended up having a hard fall December 14th and has been in the hospital ever since. She broke her arm, and three ribs. Also came to find out she had had a heart attack. We have been in conversation with the hospital and the family. We purchased her a new lift chair for her home, however, we aren't even sure she will make it home.
The Christmas season was busy with visits from friends and family. We had all the kids here off on and together, hockey tournaments, visits from Jamie and Teresa Walt, Gord and Lisa Phillips, and travelled to their places as well as Ken and Pam in Cobourg.
We rang in the New Year at home with Kathy and James Perry and Gord and Lisa. The kids had a blast and it was a very late night.
I have since come down with the flu and have been battling it for a few days now. I tried to make it to work but my co worker would rather work by herself then with me being under the weather. It wasn't until this morning did I actually realize what I had. Needless to say the Christmas decorations are coming down in between naps and energy bursts.
We are at the end of our hockey season for both Kurtis and Sean. Indoor soccer season is just around the corner and Jacob and Jonah have showed interest again. I better get working on those forms then.
My new years resolution is to post more frequently on this site.
